Jericho Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture

Jericho Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture in the Governorate of Jericho had been established in 1953, as a national body that offers public facilities. It came into being in accordance with Jordanian law of Chambers of Commerce which stipulates that the administration of the Chamber shall be undertaken by an elected administrative council within the General Assembly in a free democratic way, every four years.
In the year of 1953 the first council of the Chamber was elected headed by the late Sabrei Khalaf as the first Chairman of the Chamber, he kept the post until his death in 1969, thus, the vice president of the Chamber Mr. Shafeek Balei took over his duty as a Chairman of the Chamber until 1972. In 1972 new elections took place, the Chamber was headed by the late Taleb Mekki until 1990.
